Amazon - Follingsby Park - 21st February 2022
We would like to thank Amazon for the fantastic tour of their new premises at Follingsby Park. The tour was part of our Employment Support Group
which provides young people with the learning by doing experience to enter the world of work. We also have one of our members, Cameron, who is currently working there
4 days per week and is learning so much from the organisation.
We would like to thank Amazon and the other local business community that we work with to offer real
experiences. Without the good will and support we would not be able to support young people into paid employment. We are delighted that during this very challenging
time we have supported 5 young people into paid employment.
CO-OP Depot
Komatsu Visit
Representatives of our group attended an external visit to Komatsu in Birtley. The group members learnt about the companies history and took a tour of the factory.
The group members enjoyed the visit and found it interesting to learn about how the machinery was built and used around Europe.
ASDA Visit
We found the ice-breaker a fun activity, and found the individual questions very interesting.
We were made welcome by all the staff
during our morning visit and it will certainly help the 9 people involved to reflect at their next interviews and support future training on group interviews.
Once again we thank ASDA for their valuable time and support of our Employment Support Group.
Visit to SAGE
Members of the group visited SAGE to learn about the organisation and how the company has developed into a world wide brand. We had the opportunity to meet other groups similar to us and learn about the work they do in their communities, and their enterprise programmes
