Comments from current and previous members of the group regarding their placements.

I have been working without the 1-1 support for the past 2 months. I am feeling more confident.

I really enjoy my placement and Dave, my mentor, has taught me a lot that has helped me get a work placement at the QE Hospital.

My new placement allows me to better understand the theory of my business course I am undertaking as well. Working with our business Mentor, Alan, is great experience and developing my knowledge of business planning.

The Placement Programme has allowed me to try 2 different placements. My first placement did not work out, but it gave me an understanding of good time-keeping and working as part of a team. I am looking forward to my new placement.

The team at Fusion Dance Studio make me feel very welcome at my placement on a wednesday. My role involves general maintenance to keep the building tidy and providing a clean building for the clients coming along to the dance sessions.

My retail placement allows me to demonstrate my customer service skills. I enjoy working with the other volunteers and supporting a great charity - The Children's Society.

My role as a Director and Committee Member has developed my present, paid, part-time role.

I now have a greater understanding of policies and the structure of how an organisation is run.

I was delighted to get the paid hours working in a factory on the Team valley. The shifts were not so good!.

Working at Jewsons in a paid job allows me to work as part of the team and use the skills I have.

Following my volunteer role for the Charity, it gave me the skills and confidence to gain a paid role as the Admin Worker for 16hrs per week.

I love my role working directly to develop and grow the Charity

My placement and all aspects of the charity developed my confidence to apply for paid employment and gain a full-time post at HMRC.

I appreciate everything that was put in place to support me before, and during, my employment.

The variety of admin duties in my placement gave me the skills and understanding of what is expected of an employee working in an office.

I am now in a 16hr post due to my experience and also working with other Gateshead providers.

My placement at the Co-Op gave me the confidence and skills to work as part of a team and develop my skills to obtain my 16hr post at Marks & Spencer
