Extra 'FREE' Software
The downloads mentioned in the list to the RIGHT are in addition to the software on the other pages and are all freely available. You should not be charged for any of them though, sometimes, unscrupulous people put up websites which try to sell such programs, and these should be avoided. All the links we provide go to the main download locations for each program
Below are basic descriptions of each program and what it does. Most of them usually allow you to download a manual or Help sheets from their sites.
CoffeCup HTML Editor
When you are on the Internet you are using a program called a BROWSER to view webpages created from a language called HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language). When you create webpages you can do this in 2 main ways -
Use a WYSIWYG Editor which allows you to see the layout of the pages as you create them (e.g. Frontpage, Dreamweaver), or
Use a 'text' editing program which lets you directly create the 'instructions' for the pages, you can do this with a simple program like the Notepad utility found in windows
CoffeCup HTML Editor does 'what it says on the tin' - it lets you edit HTML code directly, but it has several advantages over 'Notepad' as it colour codes different parts of the code and has a built in preview system.
